SAFETY ON TOUR – OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
Safety issues are paramount in our minds when booking a sports tour, particularly where young people are concerned. We take this area extremely seriously and ensure that every component of your tour is researched to manage the risk undertaken by your group.
At Living With The Lions Sports Travel, we understand the importance of ensuring the safety of our clients whilst on tour. Therefore, we commit to ensuring that our suppliers are adopting good & safe working practices.
We ensure that all accommodation, transportation and excursions suppliers undertake our thorough in-house Health and Safety Assessments and that they comply, wherever applicable, with the current local, national and/or international standards.
Our clients’ feedback on all of our tours is extremely valuable to us and is used within our assessments of suppliers and their practices.
Often your LEA will require specific safety documentation to be supplied prior to a tour. We will assist you with the completion of these forms and obtain the necessary documentation to facilitate this process. Risk Assessment questionnaires are completed by our staff & suppliers (hotels, accommodation and excursions) and copies sent out to you prior to departure. This information is also posted on your tour website.
Whilst you are on tour, we will continue to work alongside our ground agents in each destination to ensure that you are fully supported and looked after throughout your trip. Our partners overseas are instructed to select only the highest quality suppliers with proven track records in safety, and, where possible, they will have personally inspected each destination prior to your group’s arrival.
Should any unforeseen incidents arise whilst you are away, they are on hand to assist with filing police reports, dealing with lost passports, medical claims and the like.
Back in the UK, 24-hour emergency numbers are supplied to all tour leaders and a communication plan is put in place for every tour to ensure the school and parents back home are able to stay in contact with the touring party at all times.
Finally, Living With The Lions is fully ATOL bonded and all of our air holiday packages are protected by the Civil Aviation Authority’s ATOL scheme. ATOL protects you from losing your money or being stranded abroad. It does this by carrying out checks on the tour operators and travel organisers it licenses and requires them to take part in a financial guarantee scheme managed by the Air Travel Trust (ATT) which provides the funds to protect a customer should a firm fail. Our ATOL number is ATOL 9864.

Your own Living With The Lions contact handles all aspects of your tour – initial meetings, quotations, presentations, operations and on-tour support. As a small team we can make quick decisions and pride ourselves on providing a fast & personalised response any queries you may have. We are willing to do things differently if you prefer and are happy to consider any new ideas.
Each of our team members has gained valuable experience at respected companies. Joanna at Gullivers for 8 years, Carrie with Bundu Bashers in South Africa for 10 years and then Edwin Doran for 3 yrs and John has been organising music tours overseas for the last 22 years. As a keen sportsman himself, our MD Patrick Arnold is actively involved in the schools department and loves to get involved at all levels of organisation and implementation.
Over the years we have built up long lasting relationships with our hosts and ground agents overseas. Their ability to arrange access to top class venues and meet ex-internationals, arrange competitive fixtures, organise musical concerts and provide the all-important local knowledge, makes them invaluable to the touring process. The service you receive from Living With The Lions is bespoke and tailored to your team. You chose your own tour merchandise, sightseeing experiences, music repertoire and standard of opponent. We ensure it all gels together and that every detail has been thought through.
