High on most people’s wish-list of must-visit places, Australia really does provide a near perfect location for an overseas tour.
Our shared heritage means that most sports played in the UK are available on a competitive level in Australia and this makes it an ideal destination for a combined sports tour. Rugby, cricket, hockey, netball and swimming are probably the most popular sports played, but rugby league, Gaelic football and tennis are also equally competitive. Despite a hard fought match on the field, the legendary Aussie hospitality at a post-match Barbie will undoubtedly unite the teams from both hemispheres.
As for sightseeing, the rich array of attractions on offer Down Under is hard to beat. From the red landscape of Ayers Rock to snorkelling off the Great Barrier Reef, to surfing in the glistening waters of Queensland; there are a myriad of sightseeing opportunities available. Climb Sydney Harbour Bridge, go on a desert jeep safari or hike through exotic rainforests. There truly is something for everyone here. It’s a destination that will leave you wanting to return.
A tour to Australia can also be combined with a stopover in Asia on the way out. Why not consider a match in Hong Kong or Singapore to add an extra dimension to your team’s touring experience?
MARK HANSLIP – St Edwards School Oxford, Australia Rugby & Hockey Tour
All the feedback we have had has been extremely positive. I cannot thank you enough for putting together this tour, which I think is very good value for money and offers the pupils so much to see and do. Thank you for your time, expertise and support in putting together our tour. Overall an amazing and wonderful once in a life time experience.
MIKE PYRGOS – BRYANSTON – RUGBY TOUR TO MALAYSIA & AUSTRALIA
The pre tour preparation and attention to detail was second to none and this included getting visas for over 40 people and helping to prepare our risk assessments. The company also came to school about 6 months before our departure to answer both my questions and those of the parents. Due to circumstances beyond my control some of our boys had to pull out about 3 months before departure due to England call ups and the company took this in their stride and helped me organise replacements and all the complications that arose from this. The tour itself went like clockwork and a lot of time had gone into getting the correct fixtures for us and both the billeting and the hotels were first class. The whole trip went without a hitch and I would thoroughly recommend Living with the Lions to any school wishing to organise a tour of any sort.”
