Three tests in Durban, Pretoria and Johannesburg, and the midweek Lions game in Cape Town.
The Shosholoza Tour sees all 3 tests and the midweek Lions in Cape Town, but heads east to the
Kruger National Park after the 2nd test where it is possible to see the Big 5 in their natural environment

Wednesday 17th June:
Depart UK for South Africa.
Thursday 18th June
Welcome to Durban! You will be met by your LWTL representative and transferred to the Protea Karridene Hotel. In the evening, welcome drinks will be served in the hotel bar.
Friday 19th June:
A day at leisure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the hotel and the pleasant sub-tropical climate.
Saturday 20th June:
TEST MATCH 1 : 3pm Kick-Off
Take it easy in the morning before coaches leave for the pre-match party at the ABSA Stadium in Durban for the 1st Test. Coaches will return to the hotel two hours after the end of the match.
Sunday 21st June:
Transfer to Durban Airport for the flight to Cape Town (1h50m) on arrival transfer to the Best Western Cape Suites for a 5 night stay. Afternoon at leisure in Cape Town, or head to ‘La Med’ for Sundowners overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Monday 22nd June:
Day at leisure in Cape Town.
Tuesday 23rd June:
BEYERSKLOOF LUNCH AND MIDWEEK GAME: 7pm Kick-Off
At midday we will set off to Stellenbosch to explore the Winelands and our exclusive lunch at Beyerskloof Winery (see details of day on page 15) Afterwards, head into Newlands for the evening match between the Emerging Springboks and the Lions. Following the game, coach transfers will return to your hotels in central Cape Town.
Wednesday 24th June:
At leisure, or may we suggest a trip to Cape Point via Boulders beach and the penguins! See EXCURSIONS for more information
Thursday 25th June:
Day at leisure or, for the golfers, today will be the ‘LWTL Golf Day’ at the amazing Steenberg Golf Club. Please note there is plenty of time for keen golfers to play more often and you may wish to bring your own clubs, though rentals are readily available.
Friday 26th June:
After breakfast we will transfer to Cape Town Airport for the flight to Johannesburg. On arrival transfer to your hotel the Protea Manor Hotel, Pretoria, for 3 nights.
Saturday 27th June:
TEST MATCH 2: 3pm Kick-Off
Your hotel is just a short walk from the stadium and so prematch hospitality will take place here, joined by our other tours as they arrive. Enjoy post match celebrations in the hotel as well.
Sunday 28th June:
Leisure Day in Pretoria with options to go to the Pretoria Zoo or Gold Reef City.
Monday 29th June:
Following breakfast, we set off east toward the Kruger National Park. Our stay will be based at the Hippo Hollow Hotel in Hazeyview, the gateway to the park.
Tuesday 30th June
Enjoy a game drive into the famous Kruger National Park.
Wednesday 1st July:
Day at leisure or further exploration of the Kruger National Park. Option to play golf on one of the platinum rated golf courses in this area.
Thursday 2nd July:
Day at leisure.
Friday 3rd July:
Head back to Johannesburg for a 3 night stay at either the Courtyard, Eastgate or City Lodge, Morningside Hotels. Friday night will be at leisure to enjoy the vibrant nightlife in Joburg with your fellow Lions supporters on the eve of the final test.
Saturday 4th July:
TEST MATCH 3: 3pm Kick-Off
Finale party at the hotel before coaches will leave for the stadium. Return transfer to the hotel half an hour after the
match finishes to continue the celebrations.
Sunday 5th July:
Day at Leisure or consider a half day Soweto Tour in the
afternoon.
Monday 6th July:
Enjoy your final day before transferring to the airport for
international flight back to the UK.
Tuesday 7th July:
Arrive home in the UK - Tour ends. |
