Heineken Cup 2009 - Biarritz v Gloucester
Rachel spent a weekend on tour in Biarritz with the Gloucester Heineken Cup supporters. Although Gloucester lost the game she returned having had a great weekend. Biarritz is a great rugby destination and perfect for a weeked away with its beach location, fabulous weather and suberb bars and restaurants.
Certainly a change from the Shed!

View from the Skyline Gondola - Queenstown
Joanne Overy has just returned from Whirlwind trip to New Zealand to compile a report on hotels for the New Zealand Rugby World Cup in 2011. 2 days Christchurch, 1 day Queenstown 2 days Auckland and 36 hotels later has given us a pretty good idea of location of hotels and the suitablity for our clients. Christchurch is the gateway to the south island and is a pretty city lying on the east coast. Australaisia’s tallest mountains, the Southern Alps are out to the west and can be seen from Christchurch and the views are stunning. Englands pool games are mostly based in Christchurch and if they make the Rugby World Cup 1/4 final, will also be played here.
On to Queenstown, the adventure playground of New Zealand will certainly be a hot spot for everyone travelling to New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup. There are lots of lovely hotels and the activities in this vibrant town are endless and there is something to suit everyones tastes from Bungy Jumping to dining at the top of Skyline Gondala. The views from the top of the gondola are stunning to say the least and the size of Lake Wakatipu is magnificient.
Auckland , where the semis and the finals of the New Zealand Rugby World Cup will take place, is certainly gearing itself up for this prestigious event in less than 2 years time. The public transport system is being improved to help cater for the many thousands of supporters that will be arriving and several hotels are being refurbished or extended to help grow the number of rooms that are going to be in great demand.
